On an evening in February filled with conversation, artistry, and shared purpose, Hylton Center board and staff, alongside elected officials and philanthropists, gathered for the inaugural Center Stage Soirée.
The evening featured remarks from Executive Board Chair Joyce Connery and Executive Director Rick Davis, who highlighted the past year’s successes and shared a vision for the Hylton Center’s future. Aside from the Anniversary Gala, this is the only dinner held on the Merchant Hall stage. Guests enjoyed performances by Mason Music Productions pianist Charlie Murdock while connecting with arts leaders united in their partnership and support of the Hylton Center.
The Center Stage Soirée was created to celebrate the various stakeholders who have helped ensure the Hylton Center’s success. In addressing the founding stakeholders, Executive Director Rick Davis remarked, “You planted a seed a decade and a half ago, and I hope you look around tonight and feel that your investment has flourished.”
Although the founding stakeholders provided the original vision and determination, the Hylton Center continues to thrive today thanks to Copper Circle members, a broad community of champions who believe deeply in the transformative power of live performance.
The Copper Circle represents individuals who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Hylton Center. Rooted in philanthropy, passion, and a belief in the future, these supporters help sustain access to the arts through Hylton Center programs for years to come. Much like the copper that frames and carries sound throughout Merchant Hall, Copper Circle members help amplify our mission throughout the community. Their generosity ensures that the stage lights shine bright, every performance meets the Hylton Center’s standard of excellence, and the arts remain accessible to all.
