Breaking ground for the new Education and Rehearsal wing at the Hylton Center.

There are many ways to support the Hylton Center, including an annual membership with the Friends of the Hylton Center, naming opportunities, and much more. Choose the methods that best suit your circumstances – our staff is available to help you discover the giving plan that works for you.

Friends of the Hylton Center

For nearly a decade, the financial and volunteer support of the Friends of the Hylton Center has made it possible to present first-class performing arts from around the world and around the corner. Memberships begin at just $125 per year and include a full year of benefits for you and your guests to enjoy. Join now.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Corporate, foundation, and governmental partners support the Hylton Center’s performances and programs year-round, through our many performance series, community events, the Anniversary Gala, Veterans and the Arts Initiative, and more. Sponsorship affords your company many benefits, such as enhanced visibility, space rentals for events, and tickets to performances.

Education Initiatives

The Hylton Center’s Education Initiative offers year-round arts education activities for students of all ages, including daytime school field trip performances and themed engagement activities before Hylton Family Series performances. These programs are supported 100% by philanthropy and need your help to continue making an impact on our community’s learners.

Veterans and the Arts Initiative

The Veterans and the Arts Initiative creates community through free classes, events, and workshops in the visual and performing arts. Since 2014, the Initiative has served more than 14,000 Veterans, Servicemembers, and military families, expanding its reach each year through in-person and virtual programming. Your gift ensures that the Hylton Center can continue providing free opportunities for learning, expression, and community-building to our local military for years to come.

Naming Opportunities

For as little as $500 a year (over 5 years), you can make your permanent mark on the Hylton Center.  Naming opportunities include ‘Taking a Seat’ in Merchant Hall or 'Taking a Giant Step' in the new Education and Rehearsal Wing, as well as recognizing a person or organization by naming a room, space, instrument, or equipment.

Capital and Endowment Campaign

Support the future of the Hylton Center by making a gift to the Capital and Endowment Campaign. Your gift will support the Hylton Center’s endowment, which when fully funded, will ensure artistic excellence in our community for years and generations to come.

Planned Giving

There are many ways to include philanthropic support of the Hylton Center in your estate plans through a planned gift – some of which could even benefit you and/or the Hylton Center during your lifetime. Bequests are just the tip of the iceberg. The Hylton Center’s staff works closely with George Mason University's planned giving team, as well as your own financial team, to determine how to best fulfill your philanthropic goals.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees, making the most of your support for the Hylton Center. Find out if your company has a matching gift policy. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to the Hylton Center may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
