Hylton Center Ambassadors are members of the community with a passion for the performing arts and an interest in using their platforms of influence to increase the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s visibility and impact within their respective communities. They help build audiences that reflect the community in scope and diversity, as well as assist with local outreach initiatives.

How You Can Help
As an influencer with a robust network of contacts, you have the ability to convey the wide scope of diverse programming and genres available to Hylton Center patrons of all ages and cultivate in them a sense of pride in their local arts community. We know that who you are as a Hylton Center Ambassador—and what your constituents need—will vary. We invite you to design your own Ambassador experience using a provided “tool kit” of information about the Hylton Center to share with your sphere of influence, ensuring that you and your network are among the first to hear about the many exciting opportunities taking place at the Hylton Center.
Monthly:
The successful Hylton Center Ambassador candidate will spend 3 to 4 hours per month drawing on their leadership expertise to find creative ways to help reach new Hylton Center audiences. The following items are just a few ways to ensure that you—and by extension, your contacts—stay connected and in-the-know about performances, special events, and exclusive discounts.
- Sign up for Hylton Center emails
- Connect one-on-one with a Hylton Center Audience Development and Engagement Committee member for collaboration and guidance
- Access your Hylton Center tool kit of shareable assets (print, digital, email, and/or social media) for communicating to your audience
- Help create awareness for special ticket offers and year-round savings (e.g., subscriptions, youth discounts; group sales, membership benefits)
Ambassador Tool Kit
As a Hylton Center Ambassador, you will:
- Be among the first to learn about special discounted or complimentary tickets for sharing with your network
- Receive an exclusive invitation to the Hylton Center’s annual Season Announcement event where new performances are unveiled
- Receive sharable season assets for distribution among your community network
- Receive an “Ask Me About the Hylton Center” promotional button and Hylton Center name tag
Personalize Your Experience
As noted above, we invite you to choose your own adventure as a Hylton Ambassador by identifying opportunities in your immediate community where your passion inspires you to help others connect with the arts through the Hylton Center. This might include the following:
- Sharing information at organizational meetings; representing the Hylton Center at select community events; and/or getting the word out through other creative means
- Attending Hylton Center performances and encouraging others to do so by introducing friends, colleagues, and guests to the Hylton through performances and events that pique your interest
- When attending Hylton Center performances, interacting with patrons, or simply demonstrating your Hylton pride in a way that is meaningful to you
For consideration, a successful Hylton Center Ambassador candidate will:
- Participate in an interview with a member of the Ambassador Committee
- Participate in an Ambassador orientation and training
- Attend the annual State of the Arts town hall gathering at the Hylton Center where interests and ideas are exchanged, and Ambassadors can convey their constituents’ arts-related feedback and interests
- Participate in and pass a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the Committee
- Sign a 1) Statement of Commitment to the Ambassador Program and 2) Memorandum for Appointment of Volunteers, annually
