Recently on view January 13 through February 21, the 14th Annual Prince William County Public Schools Exhibition once again transformed the Buchanan Partners Art Gallery at the Hylton Center into a vibrant celebration of student creativity and self-expression. A showcase of artwork from Kindergarten through 12th grade, the exhibition continues to represent the extraordinary depth and diversity of talent across Prince William County Public Schools.
“PWCS cherishes our relationship with the Hylton Performing Arts Center. This show is particularly meaningful as it is the only annual exhibition to showcase the artwork of students at all levels (K–12) from all parts of the district at one time. It is also important because it gives our students’ work the chance to be seen by thousands of people in a professional arts setting,” said Andrew Watson, visual arts coordinator for Prince William County Public Schools.
For the Hylton Center, the exhibition has become a signature community moment—one that continues to grow in impact each year.
“The Prince William County Public Schools gallery exhibit has become a cherished tradition at the Hylton Center. We are consistently impressed by the artistic talent of the students in our community,” said Hylton Performing Arts Center Education Coordinator, Marit Majeske.
More than an exhibition, this annual showcase highlights the meaningful partnership between Prince William County Public Schools and the Hylton Center. By bringing student artwork from classrooms across the district into the Hylton’s professional gallery, Prince William County Public Schools and the Hylton Performing Arts Center demonstrate a shared commitment to access, opportunity, and artistic excellence. This annual exhibition reflects the strength of educators, administrators, and arts leaders working in partnership to elevate student voices. It is a celebration of collective investment in creativity and a testament to what is possible when schools and cultural institutions work hand in hand.
The Buchanan Partners Art Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn more about current and upcoming exhibitions.
