It has been a banner year for the Hylton Center Education Initiative. The Hylton Center was honored to be recognized with three nominations and/or awards this year in recognition of its education programming. In February, the Hylton Performing Arts Center was honored with the Prince William Chamber’s Agnes L. Colgan Community Service Award for Arts & Education. Education Coordinator, Marit Majeske, was nominated for Prince William Living magazine’s Influential Women Award and recognized in March, which highlights local women who are leaders doing work to enhance our community. At the beginning of May, through Education Initiative programming, the Hylton Center was honored to have its partnership with Prince William County Schools’ Fine and Performing Arts office recognized through a 2025 SPARK Business Partnership of the Year award. “I have been part of the Hylton Center staff since our opening in 2010 and I am so proud of the exponential growth we have seen in our education programming during that time,” said Education Coordinator, Marit Majeske. “We are thrilled that we are able to support our local schools and also bring educational experiences to the wider community of learners of all ages.”
