Ireland’s Answer to New Grass Revival

What is JigJam (3/14)? To quote the band themselves, it’s like “when virtuoso Irish playing jumps the pond running naked through the wide open fields of bluegrass/Americana, JigJam is born.” So, Irish bluegrass with a definite attitude!

“We can’t wait to play at the Hylton Performing Arts Center for our very first time!” said Jamie McKeogh, the group’s lead singer and guitarist. “We have just recently recorded some brand new songs and we look forward to playing them live. Our live show is always energetic and lively as we mix both Irish and bluegrass songs and tunes!”

That mix of Irish and American bluegrass is at the core of the band’s sound. In 2012, the ensemble was formed in Ireland when McKeogh was still in high school. In 2015 they came to the States and fell in love with American bluegrass music, creating a fusion with traditional Irish sounds and generating something totally unique. Their new album Across the Pond captures that fusion perfectly.

“We hope to have the crowd on their feet by the end of the night dancing and singing as we build up to St. Patrick’s Day!” McKeogh said. “We will see you all there!” Secure your seats today to this spirited concert on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. and join in the celebration!
