Chances are, even if you think you haven’t heard of Voctave (9/23), you’ve definitely heard them. This superstar vocal ensemble has amassed more than 150 million views on their videos of a cappella masterpieces; performed all over the world alongside GRAMMY, Dove, and American Music Award winners; and garnered multiple #1 songs and albums on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. Voctave has also ranked in the top 25 on Billboard Magazine’s charts.

Ensemble member, Aaron Stratton, was already a big fan of Voctave when he joined the group in early 2020, after 25 years of singing professionally—many of them spent at Walt Disney World. He’s no stranger to the phenomenal joy that a cappella music can bring to people. “[It’s] singing in its purest form,” shares Stratton. “The trust we all have in each other, as individuals contributing to the sound of the ensemble, forms an intimate bond between the performers that is unlike any other form of music…especially when performed live. I think that adds to the enjoyment the audience receives at an indescribable level.”

Voctave’s repertoire runs the gamut, but their sweet spot is Disney classics, Broadway hits, and holiday favorites. The group’s videos make it clear that as fun as these songs are for the audience to hear, they are equally fun for the ensemble to perform. “It’s VERY hard to choose just one favorite song to perform, so I’ll pick a medley…the ‘Heroes and Villains Medley’ is my favorite,” says Stratton. “The guys are featured in a way that allows us to have fun at a high-level of energy and show more of our personalities individually!”

Voctave’s huge following is due in no small part to their viral videos and social media, with fans posting their own “duets.” “It’s very humbling… especially as someone who was a Voctave fan before being asked to join the group. I have been able to watch my friends’ success grow as they worked SO hard to make Voctave what it is today. I now understand, firsthand, what hard work it truly is!”
