Support Arts Education

Step Afrika! classroom residency

It has never been more important than the present to provide arts education, both inside and outside the traditional classroom. The Hylton Center has taken up that charge – to give meaningful and rich arts education opportunities for students of all ages.

The Hylton’s Education Initiative has soared to new heights with over 140,000 students served across the Northern Virginia region. Despite last year’s untraditional season, virtual programming was offered in response to the pandemic, and the arts were experienced by elementary, middle, and high school students from Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Over 11,500 students participated during the 2020-2021 season alone.

The Education Initiative is supported 100% by philanthropy and we ask that you consider a special, year-end gift to support our Education Initiative. After a successful past year of digital programming, the Hylton Center looks forward to a gradual return to in-person engagement, following the guidance of George Mason University and local school partners’ health & safety protocols. Your gift of any amount will help us provide a mix of virtual and in-person events, workshops, and performances during this time of transition.

Making a gift of this kind is not only incredibly vital – but simple! Visit us online for information on how to make a gift.

Looking to make even more of an impact? Our friends at SPARK – the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools – is raising funds to support the Hylton Center’s Education Initiative, as well as other impactful programs for County students. Learn more.
