May 21, 2020 marks 10 years since the Hylton Performing Arts Center opened its doors for the first time.
It's hard to believe it’s already been a decade since the Grand Opening Weekend! And, what a first decade it's been. Since that first weekend, the Hylton Center quickly became a cultural hub of Prince William County and Northern Virginia.
A Bittersweet Celebration
We never would have imagined celebrating this moment in our own homes rather than with hugs, high-fives, and toasts. Nevertheless, our pride runs deep and our commitment is stronger than ever to the future of the arts in our community.
How Far We've Come
We're proud to be the home for outstanding arts experiences from around the corner and across the world. So far, we've welcomed more than one million people into the Hylton Center for performances and events. Our venues are praised by audiences and artists alike, and are unmatched in the area.
Each year, our carefully curated series of performances from regional, national, and international artists draw audiences from around our region. From our first days, and over the years, we've remained committed to supporting and strengthening the artists in our community through:
- the Arts Alliance program
- educational opportunities for children
- an active art gallery
- training for theater technicians
- a robust program in support of our Veteran community
With the recent expansion of the Education and Rehearsal Wing, we are poised to be an even stronger cornerstone of arts and culture in this community. Learn more about the Hylton Center's history.
We Celebrate You
Of course, this milestone means nothing without each and every one of you...our Hylton Center family. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives, your celebrations, your life-changing moments, and your creative experience. We are eager to share these moments again in-person during the 10th Anniversary Season as soon as we are able to do so safely. We will continue to communicate this information as it becomes available.
