Dropping temperatures and falling leaves mean the Hylton season is officially in full-swing as November showcases international smash hits, circus fun, and epic theater! Matinee Idylls fans are in for a rousing treat with Brass 5: The Art of Fun (11/12), a lively and playful concert featuring everything from Renaissance, classical, Dixieland, swing and jazz, to rock, country and more. Next, Merchant Hall explodes with the look and feel of Indian Bollywood movies in Taj Express: The Bollywood Musical Revue (11/15), a high-energy evening of dance performed to India’s pop hits and folk classics from Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. Family-friendly offerings continue with the Hylton Family Series award-winning circus duo, Circo Comedia (11/17) in an afternoon of comedy, stunts, magic, and general tomfoolery! Later in the month, the American Roots Series welcomes The Crooked Road on Tour (11/23) with New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters and Martha Spencer in a concert of mountain music celebrating Southwest Virginia’s rich musical traditions. Aquila Theatre closes the month of November with its new, dramatic adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey (11/24).
