For those who enjoy an idyllic afternoon in the company of good food, music, and friends, Matinee Idylls returns this fall with a fresh, new season featuring flute-cello duo Terra Voce (10/22), followed by Virginia’s own Brass 5 (11/12). Terra Voce mesmerizes in an afternoon of chamber music bliss. Flutist Elizabeth Brightbill and cellist Andrew Gabbert perform an eclectic and genre-expanding program that showcases the ethereal beauty produced by this distinct flute and cello pairing. In November, Brass 5 (11/12) demonstrates “The Art of Fun” in a dynamic concert complete with playful banter and impressive musical range. Enjoy a sampling of genres from Renaissance to classical and Dixieland to swing, jazz, and more!
